Thank you guys! And thank you Nick now that we do have a vocal rep. on behalf of Angakeras to take part in the email/internet forum. I myself would stand in for the Yamo/Aturepa tribe (Kaware/Yamorupi/Kerara Mala/Limba Rakuanda) for meantime until I identify a suitable person to replace.
Regarding meeting date etc………any dates up from May onwards would be suitable for me.
Best Regards,
Percy.

Rex,
I suggest Percy, Richard and John can come up with a date suitable for them to attend the first meeting. Joshua, Brian and I are flexible to take an emergency leave for a day or two (if at work) and attend the meeting anytime convenient.
Cheers!!
Nick

Thanks John for your detailed email.
I can say here that the main idea now is for all of us to come together and have the forum.
Can I ask Nick, Brian, Joshua and Richard to propose a date so you all can come to Pom and get this out of the way?
Those of us here in Pom will be available to attend.
Cheers,
Rex

Subject: RE: Koare Rural Development Association Account & Details
Dear All Koare Konda Kids, Thank you so much for all the comments and contributions towards "Koare Rural Development Association". It means alot and such contribution of ideas, skills and resources add true value and meaning to what we are initiating and want to achieve in the years to come so long as Koare exists and our generations exist and survive the hardships, difficulties times and problems we all face in our individual lives, family circles, community level, and the wider society at large. It is through such active involvement and participation that things move from one stage to another. No man is an island as they say. We need each other's back to look out for, support each other and see the future with optimism and clear sense of responsibility and direction. All that we are doing, as Rex Yatu has rightfully stated, we have been talking about the way forward, how to get our Koare folks together but no one started too soon due to different responsibilities we all have had over the years. Now all of us are paving way for all Koares to see each other through the formation of this association. In many different parts of PNG, people form associations for different purposes, but the major reason being to establish a legally recognized institution, supported by its own CONSTITUTION to function for the purposes of being recognised by relevant government authories and other support agencies such as donors to bring basic but much needed services to the poor. One person can not go and ask the government or donor agencies to suppport our area. A collective and concerted effort is needed and one of the major ways people in other parts of PNG are doing is through the formation of such associations. That means all of us need to feel proud, be happy and leave ill-feelings of any sort behind and support this course for our common good. This association is the flagship and is the way forward and I would expect all Koare flesh and blood to take full responsibility, ownership and work towards achieving the intended goals and objectives. If you do have any sort of feeling, PRAY TO GOD TO FORGIVE YOURSELF AND BE HAPPY YO WORK TOGETHER AS BROTHERS AND SISTERS. Our poor peoopel back in the villages depend entirely on us as educated people. They have special respect for us and it breaks my heart when we do things which make us differ from each other. I just hope that all Koares will at least contribute in different ways and leave behind and feelings and thoughts of any sort you might have. If I have created any issues with any Koare Kids, please forgive me and I want all of us to be part of this course in our different ways and capacities. To be frank no one person will take ownership of this institution and no one will do that. This association belongs to the people and children of Koare and I can assure all that other parts of Kagua/Erave/Pangia/Ialibu are starting to have access to our information and they are waiting in earnest to see how we are re-grouping and re-organising ourselves. Many people I have spoken to so far feel that Koare people are more peace loving and things that are are doing is seen and heard by others. When one brother or sister falls, another one should step in and up-lift that fallen hero and proudly take off the burden and move to the next level. Only then I am sure we will know that our little place will be a model home for all to see and feel and experience. Lets all work together so that from nothing we can create something, and from nowhere we can be somewhere. Through God's Grace we can fulfill our heart's desires and build this institution for the good of our children. On that note let me clarify some things here. I deliberaly selected the four guys to be party to the account of the association. In fact it is was a suggestion and I have made note below that I would rather ask the guys to confirm their participation. The guys whom I have chosen represent the entire Koare population from all corners, at least to start off with. But this was not a confirmed interim committee, do not take me wrong in this please. This group of men were chosen to simply open the Association account. The account is very important for the effective functioning of the association itself. However, be informed that our bro Kevin Kama just informed us that we cannot just open the account straight away like that. For an association BSP requires certain documentation such as the association registration certificate, first meeting minutes among other relevant documentation. As such we are putting this on hold for the time being until the Associaiton registration comes out in few weeks time. So I thought we would have the account done immediately but since it requires other documentation, we have to wait for the association certificate and the first meeting to come about. Only then we can proceed with the account openning. But please have some fair adea on the composition of the association so that the organisation truly represents the entire Koare area so that one person, family, group or clan does not feel being isolated. This is an INCLUSIVE ORGANISATION. Those days when one rules over the other, one man decision making and others become mere followers is over and now this new generation of Koare Kids want to chart our future based on respect for one another, support, encouragement, team work, having and sharing the same vision and mission for common good of our remote location. We also want to establish the fact that every Koare Kid has some kind of ability to contribute meaningfully at least something depending on your individual abilities and strength. Take note that those boys and girls who are thinking of formulating a Project Proposal, please do not publish the Proposals on the website. This is to avoid other people other than our Koare tolks having access to the data and information. Proposal writing for projects should be treated confidential and must only be seen by the Koare Konda Kids. However, in the long term, this will be further restricted to only members of the association and eventually to the elected Association Executive members. On this note please think about the following and throw in some ideas you may have: 1. Date for first meeting ( will be determined by the Association Registration Certificate). But think along Rex Yatu's proposal to have it during the coming elections where we can have more audience and solicit funding opportunities for the association. 2. Launching of the Association; where, when and how? 3. Membership fees: different stages such as educated people who are working in bigger jobs, working people but less income, councillors, village leaders, village mothers and fathers, children in high schools, children in primary schools, children in the villages, church pastors etc etc. 4. Association Structure: Executive including Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Committee Members, Secretary, and Treasurer. 5. Different Committees such as Health, Education, Agricultire etc based on the development needs in our area which must be headed by a structure as well. 6. Patron: This person is very important person who must be of high social status such as our Member of Parliament, District Administrator or Kiap so that by involving them we easily have access to funding and respource support. This is infact part of their social obligation to do so. 7, any other issues you may think of.... I think em tasol na hope this helps so that we know where we all are going and what lies ahead of us to ensure Koare one day enjoys this hard work and our children can feel happy and be proud of what we have started for them. Kindest regards and may the good Lord continue to bless us as we collectively work through and chart our future forward with optimism. John Rombo
Em tsol. Cheers, Rex Yatu Muddy Purari Crab from: Mole, Joshua [mailto:Joshua.Mole@oktedi.com] With due respect ,my Pali John had spoken his mind as most outstanding and organising as I could say Chair person, what I suggest is for the best interest and more effectively moving the association forward as soon as it was registered rather than delay but I could oppose the idea because whether it's a temporary or permanent to appoint office barriers so quickly through the email is telling us something. So what's a rush boys, call all the Koare Kondas together and organise the forum in person to select the committees, contribute ideas and submit the proposals. That's the best way to go. Percy is always a intelligent lady contributing the most constructive thoughts and ideas, Percy, keep up the good work long gutpla toktok yu save mekim. You really the person has heart for your people at home, We all have different talents as tangible knowledge free given by God and one person could not do what other person can do. Brian is the person behind some of this proposals which have already been written. He's a intelligent guy, I hope he bring it to the forum so lets wanbel na mekim ol samting. Regards, JM From: Victor Smyth [mailto:admin@eswconstructions.com] Koare Konda apora….. wa go nai! Below are my thoughts and I would like to stress them: 1. We are doing this all in the name of all Koares, from the valleys of Seka Tea to the last places of Koare weather it is Epabini, Koya, Karanda, Ripulu or so forth……… 2. All along, the invitation to the Koare kids with email/internet has been called/and is still calling……….. Despite all of these, only few are very vocal here! 3. The very people who are vocal are the ones who will be standing in, through the journey of this course sacrificing their leisure/family times. Thats from writing proposals (whether it means to seek assistances to do so) to knocking on the doors of donors even if it may mean to spend own fortune along the ways. 4. The people whom I believe will carry this task through to its destiny; John Rombo, Brian Paulus, Steven Awape, Rex Yatu, Richard Thomas – who maybe behind the scenes just observing, Joshua Mole, David Wereh though he may not be party to these forums, others who are in for morale support, and offcourse acknowledging the support behind from our boys like (Bernard T, Jacob R and Doctor Wapu), and not forgetting myself offcourse. 5. When it comes to appointing executives, whether temporary/part-time/fulltime, this is the area where it'll need collaborative deliberations from all Koare kids in this forum to appoint bearers. One man decision is not the way to go, because this will only create bearings to individuals who are striving to write proposals, collecting data, raise awareness to the community levels etc, etc….. Liklik decision or bikpela decision olgeta mas contributim tingting/toktok bilong ol. 6. Appoint people who are active and supportive of this association to the office bearer posts/committees. For example, Rex Raitano – I've never heard any input from him, let alone if his email address is dormant. I am not against the Aga-Keras, but, a rep from each part must be an active participant and cannot just ride under the rider. 7. Viewing of proposals; again – the likes of people mentioned in # 4 must view and make comments/inputs to ensure it is according to the satisfaction of all, so as to the KRDA. 8. Lets try every effort to include all Koares with email/internet. People like; Epson Epano (Kupa), Gabriel Kiliga (Lapogo), Pearson Kimbu Rigi from Yamorupi/Limba village (a nurse who worked tirelessly in Koare Health Centre for the last 3 or so years, he may have some good ideas in rural hospitals – Sister Rose may know this guy as he now works in Mendi so I will contact her). 9. Thank you Brian, and I commend you for taking a big step forward in putting that proposal together, and we will only see more from you. With that from me, God bless you all and bye. Percy N Rame. From: Paulus, Brian [mailto:Brian.Paulus@oktedi.com] John, These are all crap, I said I'm supporting the association and what else do you want or you still need to grow some more hair?? I would never stand tall in front of you and weep you to understand simply what I said. Stop the lecture on this forum and say something good. From: John Rombo [mailto:johnrombo2004@yahoo.com]
